Njabulo Maphumulo

Deputy Dean of Student Affairs

Njabulo Maphumulo is a Deputy Dean of Student Affairs responsible for strategic operations and services provision of the division managing seven departments at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and serves as the Vice President of the Association of Colleges and Universities Housing Officers International (ACUHO- I SAC). Previously worked at the University of the Western Cape, Stellenbosch University and Wits University respectively in the Student Affairs field.

Njabulo currently co-chairs the CPUT DSA Transformation Forum and his passion for student development has led to numerous participation and presentations on issues affecting students within the sector outside of the classroom. He further holds various national and international professional and honorary memberships such as the Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) [United States], College Student Educators International (ACPA) [United States], Higher Education Learning and Teaching Association of Southern Africa (HELTASA), and Golden Key Honorary Society.

Njabulo is finalising his PhD in Public Administration focusing on Public Policy, Higher Education, Student Development, Student Success, Teaching and Learning at the University of the Western Cape. He further holds a Master of Public Administration Cum Laude (MPA), Baccalaureus of Public Administration Honours, Advanced Diploma in Public Administration, and Higher Certificate in Economic Development (Cum Laude) all from the University of the Western Cape.

In addition, he has the following education fellowship; grant fellow of Master of Science in Higher Education focusing on Student Affairs Administration at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse in the United States of America, the Innovative Doctoral Course for Sustainability on Digital Transformation from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm Sweden, the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship from Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research in Japan, Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector, SETA in South Africa.
